Dear reader,
Sustainability has received more and more attention in recent years – in business, politics and society. In many contexts, the term itself has found almost inflationary use, especially in the communication of many companies.

Responsibility is the basis of our actions. This conviction is a cornerstone of our corporate culture. From it, we derive our holistic understanding of sustainability, which sees long-term economic success and responsibility for people and planet as mutually dependent on each other. Building on this value-driven foundation, we have created the necessary structures and processes to anchor sustainability in our organization. Our sustainability strategy, in which we have defined the fields of action that are crucial to us and developed ambitious goals, ensures a systematic approach.
At DEHN, we pursue an integrative understanding of sustainability that encompasses economic, ecological and social responsibility. Ever since or company was founded, we have been aware of the fact that we can only be successful if we treat our employees fairly and use the resources provided by nature carefully.
We see sustainability as an integral part of our core business, which shapes our decisions and actions in all areas of the company. Being open, respectful and honest with one another – both within our company and with our stakeholders – is our foundation. We are convinced that this partnership approach is the best way to jointly contribute to sustainable development.
At DEHN, we ensure effective sustainability management in our entire organization through clearly defined roles and responsibilities. In line with our holistic understanding, we regard sustainability as a cross-departmental function that permeates all areas of our company.
The first level of responsibility lies with our Management Board, which creates awareness for sustainability in our company and actively contributes to our sustainability strategy. The development of our strategy and its implementation are managed by our Director for Corporate Development. A cross-departmental team ensures coordination and collaboration between different units to act jointly and exploit synergies.
Our sustainability strategy is firmly aligned with our corporate strategy. After all, acting responsibly in our core business is a strategic cornerstone for us. Our strategy guides the design and direction of all our sustainability activities and serves as a compass for our employees in their day-to-day work.
Sixteen overarching sustainability goals that we defined in 2024 provide the signposts on our journey. They are in line with the strategic corporate goals in order to ensure consistency in our actions. Our sustainability goals pertain to four central fields of action that are of crucial importance to us. Just as the eleven material topics assigned to them, they result from a comprehensive materiality analysis.
