Isolated lightning protection for railway buildings with HVI technology
If appearance is important, a protection solution is required that can be optimally integrated in the architecture. The isolated lightning protection system with HVI Conductor provides top protection and is easy to retrofit.
Technology: The lightning current carrying conductor is sheathed in insulation and a semi-conductive coat. With the HVI Conductor, unlike insulated conductors with a metal braided shield, there is no danger of high-energy induced currents.
A special advantage: Uncontrolled puncture and creeping flashover are prevented - Lightning currents are safely discharged to earth. Equipotential bonding measures are easy to coordinate and implement.
DEHN protects the voluntary fire brigade
The domain of many voluntary fire brigades includes railway sections.
In case of accidents in the track area, electrical overhead contact lines carrying a voltage of 15,000 volts pose a great risk for emergency personnel. It is therefore important to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 m to live parts during rescue work.
Switching off the overhead contact wire section does not ensure that the overhead contact line is de-energised. Firefighters from the voluntary fire brigade in Beratzhausen therefore use earthing and short-circuiting devices from DEHN to protect firefighters at the scene.
