Air-termination Rods, Accessories

Air-termination rods, air-termination tips, telescopic lightning protection masts and accessories for protecting elevated roof-mounted structures or buildings.

Air-Termination Rods / Tips

For protecting roof-mounted structures, chimneys, etc., also for erection with concrete base.
Additional fasteners, e.g. DEHNiso spacers, are necessary depending on the gust wind speed.

Note: Permissible roof loads have to be considered and checked with the constructor where required.

Rod Holders DEHNhold

For fixing air-termination and earth entry rods, with slotted saddle clamp, fixed conductor routing.
For use with different materials, e.g. Al, StSt, St/tZn and Cu.

Self-supporting Air-Termination Rods 2.5 to 3.5 m

With tripod for protecting roof-mounted structures, adjustable to a roof inclination up to max. 10°.

The concrete base (Part No. 102 075 or 102 010) and the base plate (Part No. 102 060 or 102 050) have to be ordered separately.

Self-supporting Air-Termination Rods 4 to 9 m

With hinged tripod for protecting larger roof-mounted structures, adjustable to the roof inclination up to max. 10°.
The stackable concrete base (Part No. 102 010) and the base plate (Part No. 102 050) have to be ordered separately.

Self-supporting Air-Termination Rods 10 and 11 m

With hinged six-legged stand for protecting larger roof-mounted structures or for erection on compacted ground without foundation works, adjustable to a roof inclination up to max. 10°
The stackable concrete base (Part No. 102 010) and the base plate (Part No. 102 050) have to be ordered separately.

Self-supporting Air-Termination Rods 12 to 14 m

With hinged tripod for protecting larger roof-mounted structures or for erection on compacted ground without foundation works.
Adjustable to a roof inclination of max. 5°.
The stackable concrete block (Part No. 102 010) and the base plate (Part No. 102 050) have to be ordered separately.

Note: Permissible roof loads have to be considered and checked with the constructor where required.

Telescopic air-termination rods

Can be used in three and four-legged stands and for fixing on to, for example, walls or other structures.

The respective wind loads and the quantity of concrete bases can be found in the installation instructions.

The maximum free length refers to the distance between the rod tip and the upper holder (fixing point).
For reasons of stability, the centre holder (3 fixing points) should be mounted directly below the upper holder if possible. The distance must not be more than 15 cm. The lower holder (fixing point) has to be installed within a range of ≤ 15 cm at the end of the air-termination rod.

Telescopic, self-supporting air-termination rods up to 8 m

Self-supporting air-termination rod with hinged three or four-legged stand for protecting larger roof-mounted structures, adjustable to the roof slope up to max. 10°.

The stackable concrete base (weight 17 kg / part no. 102 010) and the plastic base plate (part no. 102 050) have to be ordered separately.

Air-Termination Rods D40

For fixing on to, for example, walls or other structures.

The maximum free length refers to the distance between the rod tip and the upper holder (fixing point).
For reasons of stability, the centre holder (3 fixing points) should be mounted directly below the upper holder if possible. The distance must not be more than 15 cm. The lower holder (fixing point) has to be installed within a range of ≤ 15 cm at the end of the air-termination rod.

Stands for air-termination rods D40 and GRP/Al supporting tubes

For erection with concrete bases (weight 17 kg). Adjustable to the roof slope up to max. 10° using a variable fixing on the base holder. The D40 air-termination rods / supporting tubes must be ordered separately.

The stackable concrete bases, the plastic base plates, the base holder set for holding additional concrete bases and the adapter set for D40 air-termination rods are each available separately in the accessories.

Supporting tube stand for GRP/Al supporting tubes and Ø40 air-termination rods

For erection by means of a counter plate on wire mesh cable trays and steel girders or other structures. The adapter set for Ø40 air-termination rods is available separately in the accessories.
The D40 air-termination rods / supporting tubes must be ordered separately.

Concrete bases

For air-termination rods, for protecting small roof-mounted structures on flat roofs and for installing spacers from the DEHNiso spacer product line, e.g. for isolated ring conductors or for self-supporting air-termination rods in the tripod (only with a weight of 17 kg).

Mast holder, heavy version

For erecting air-termination systems on installations, such as biogas plants

The heavy version of the mast holder enables the mounting of air-termination masts with a diameter of Ø55–100 mm

Telescopic Lightning Protection Mast with Screw Foundation

Air-termination mast for protecting special facilities such as biogas plants and free field PV systems against direct lightning strikes.
The masts are erected in a screw foundation.
No digging or foundation work necessary.
The screw foundation is screwed into the natural ground and fixed in place by three earth rods Ø20 mm, length 1500 mm (Part No. 620 151). These must be ordered separately.
The air-termination masts are designed according to Eurocode.
These calculations are based on a natural ground pressure of 0.02 kN/cm2 (e.g. loamy, sandy, gravelly soil of medium density).

Telescopic Lightning Protection Mast for Bucket or Concrete Foundations

Air-termination mast for protecting special facilities such as biogas plants, free field PV systems, Ex systems and ammunition dumps against direct lightning strikes.The masts are erected in a bucket foundation (pre-fabricated) or an on-site concrete foundation with foundation basket (to be ordered separately). For detailed imformation on the plug-in system, foundation and installation, please see installation instructions No. 1729.Advantages of the air-termination mast system:

Bucket Foundations for Telescopic Lightning Protection Masts

Prefabricated element for easy erection of telescopic lightning protection masts.
No concreting on site.

Foundation Basket for On-site Concrete Foundations

With threaded bolts for setting in concrete, suitable for the flange plate of telescopic lightning protection masts.

Air-Termination Rods for Metal Roofs

For protecting roof-mounted structures, domelights, etc.
It is fixed at the end of the braces (Ø11-mm holes) by four holders for metal roofs.
The holders must be selected according to the roof profile (round standing seam part no. 123 040, clamping seam part no. 123 041, standing seam 123 042, without seam for riveting or screwing 123 043).

Air-Termination Rod for Trapezoidal Roofs

For protecting roof-mounted structures, domelights etc.
The air-termination rod is placed in the gap between the trapezoidal seams profile. The variable base frame can be adjusted to all trapeziodal profiles. The special holder for the air-termination rod can compensate roof inclinations up to 10°.

Air-Termination Rod for Ridge and Hip Tiles

For protecting solar thermal modules, photovoltaic generators or other roof-mounted structures on steep roofs.
The clamping bracket must be adjusted to the diameter of the ridge tiles before it is used to secure the air-termination rod.

Holders for Air-Termination Systems on Ridge and Hip Tiles

For air-termination rods or spacer bars with conductor holder, for protecting solar thermal modules, photovoltaic generators or other roof-mounted structures on steep roofs.
The holder is mounted using a tensioning strap. One clip is permanently fixed to one end of the tensioning strap. The holder can be adjusted to various types of ridge tiles using the adjustable clip at the other end.

Air-termination tips / rods or spacer bars have to be ordered separately.

Rod Holder for Gable Roofs

Base for fixing air-termination rods on steep roofs, with anti-rotation protection (toothed lock washer) and lock nut as well as boreholes for screwing the brace onto the roof battens.
At the chimney, the air-termination rod requires additional fixing e.g. by means of DEHNiso spacer.

Pipe Clamp for Air-Termination Rods

For fixing as well as lightning current carrying contact of the air-termination rod, e.g. on metal substructures of photovoltaic (PV) installations (square hollow profile); typically installed on steel frame or reinforced concrete structures. When mounted on pipes, the pressure plate (flat plate 2x angled) has to be removed. Two pipe clamps have to be installed on each air-termination rod.
The maximum free length of the respective air-termination rod according to the wind load must be considered for installation.

Angled Air-Termination Tips

For protecting, e.g. free field photovoltaic systems or carports with a PV system against direct lightning strikes.
A distance of 15-20 cm between the seam clamps and the free length of 80-85 cm should be ensured.
The air-termination tip is adjustable to the inclination angle of the PV system. The standard type is 55° angled which corresponds to a PV system inclination of 35°.

For vertical positioning of air-termination rods in case of roof inclinations up to 10°.
For concrete bases with fixing wedge (Part No. 102 010 or 102 340).

Air-Termination Stud

For installing meshed air-termination systems, for accessible flat roofs, e.g. parking decks.
The air-termination stud and the conductors may either be installed in concrete or in the joints between the decks.
