Supervisory Board appoints Boris Wolff as new CSO of DEHN SE
The Supervisory Board of DEHN SE has appointed Boris Wolff (51) as the new CSO of DEHN SE with effect from 1 January 2024. Prior to this, Boris Wolff was Executive Vice President (EVP) Global Sales, Service & Marketing for SMA Solar Technology AG, one of the world's leading photovoltaic system technology specialists. In his new role, he will report to CEO Dr Philipp Dehn. Boris Wolff succeeds Helmut Pusch (53), who left the company by mutual agreement in July 2023. Boris Wolff can look back on over 20 years of experience in sales, project and product management in the automation and photovoltaic industries. After graduating in electrical energy technology, he began his career as a project and sales manager at ABB in 1998. In the years that followed, he held various management positions in sales and product marketing before joining SMA as Vice President Medium Voltage Systems in 2012. Between 2014 and 2020, Wolff was responsible for the Large Scale & Project Solutions business unit as EVP, before being appointed Director of German and International Sales at SMA in 2021."Global sales plays a central role at DEHN when it comes to achieving our strategic goals for 2030. DEHNproX inspection camera brings the invisible to light
The new wireless inspection camera is part of the DEHNproX product family and enables safe inspections and easy handling with a wireless connection to a smartphone or tablet. This practical inspection camera is used for regular visual inspection and documentation of the condition of electrical systems up to 150 kV / 15 to 60 Hz. It is simple and safe to operate by qualified electricians without the need for special training and can be easily controlled via WiFi using a smartphone or tablet. The voice command feature is especially practical.Operation of the DEHNproX inspection camera is intuitive and straightforward. Photos are transferred wirelessly via a WiFi connection. The necessary safety distance is achieved in combination with the extendable insulating sticks from DEHN. The working head can be used to record and document areas of the system that are difficult to access. This handy set makes it easy, for example, to inspect the overhead contact lines of railways or quickly and reliably read information from rating plates on electrical switches or transformers. Cracks in electrical equipment (e.g. insulators) can be detected at an early stage and the degree of contamination of electrical system components assessed. And all this in places that the eye cannot see. If a greater safety distance is required for safe handling, an extension stick can be attached quickly and easily using the DEHN plug-in coupling system.It is not necessary to disconnect the system for the inspection, so there is no downtime. It also saves the electrician time. Images and films can be archived for documentation purposes and important information can be transferred quickly and easily via smartphone or tablet. The camera is available as a complete set in a case (SET DIGIK AC2) and is intended for the visual inspection of electrical installations with rated voltages up to 150 kV / 15 to 60 Hz. The set consists of a camera with battery, USB cable, housing, adapter with gear coupling, and transport case. DEHNcube EMOB – prewired system solution to protect the wallbox from surges
A prerequisite for the successful expansion of electromobility is a large-scale networked and intelligent charging infrastructure. Elements such as battery-powered storage, remotely controllable charging stations with integrated energy and load management systems, and charge controllers have one key thing in common: they all contain sensitive electronic components which are highly susceptible to damage caused by lightning and surges. The compact DEHNcube EMOB solutions offer protection for wallbox and vehicle with a charging capacity of 11 to 22 kW and are easily retrofitted in existing systems. The surge protection integrated in the compact DEHNcube EMOB enclosure ensures the availability of the charging infrastructure in the event of high-energy surges from the utility grid. Five versions of the product are available for a wide range of applications. Four of them come with a type 2 + 3 surge protective device. The other is equipped with a type 1 + 2 combined arrester. Four of the DEHNcube versions can be optionally retrofitted with the DEHNpatch surge arrester for protecting Ethernet applications of the latest generation up to 10 GBit/s and 4PPoE.Their compact design and flexible application options make these protective devices the optimal solution for retrofitting. In addition, maintenance-free push-in technology enables simple and quick connection, regardless whether it's with flexible or rigid mains connecting cables up to a cross-section of 6 mm². The flexible connecting cables with a length of 1.5 m can be shortened if necessary. Cable glands for the customer's mains connection are included with all five DEHNcube EMOB variants and can be used individually by the installer on site. Pre-assembly of cable glands, surge protective devices and connecting cables for the wallbox at the factory saves valuable time during installation. For the greatest possible safety – DEHN expands its portfolio of personal protective equipment against arc faults
Persons working on or in the vicinity of live electrical equipment are, in principle, exposed to hazards associated with electric arc faults. Arc faults are rare but can never be completely ruled out when working on electrical equipment. Reliable protection is therefore required. DEHN provides holistic solutions aimed to minimise the risk of injury and accidents for employees. DEHNcare ArcFit comprises protective clothing against the thermal effects of electric arc faults which offers both protection and comfort. It is robust and meets the required standards for work on electrical installations. The multinorm protective clothing was developed to protect the wearer against the thermal effects of an arc fault – when worn in combination with the necessary accessories – with additional advantages for the customer. DEHN offers a comprehensive collection for women as well as special sizes for men. The new DEHNcare ArcFit HLP 63 comes into its own when working on systems with higher energies. The outdoor version is also water-repellent and, thanks to its colour, meets high-visibility clothing class 3 as required for outdoor clothing according to EN ISO 20471. Another protective function of DEHNcare ArcFit Outdoor is protection (type 6) against liquid chemicals according to EN 13034. Comfort is another important feature of this protective clothing. After all, a protective overall that is comfortable to wear is also more likely to be used consistently.The new DEHNcare ArcFit HLP 63 protective clothing offers a high level of protection with arc fault protection class APC 2 - PPE 4 in accordance with NFPA 70E. The DEHNcare ArcFit HLP 63 PPE against arc faults, consisting of jacket and bib overall, complies with category III according to EU PPE regulation 2016/425 and meets all necessary normative requirements for protective clothing of this kind.Additional head, face, hand and foot protection is required to complete the PPE against arc faults. Safely earthing pipelines - with screwable earth rods from DEHN
Pipelines are the lifeline of our industrialised society. Their reliable functioning is essential for many supply and production systems. Increased bundling of transportation and energy routes increases inductive and ohmic interference on pipelines. As a result, voltage can occur on and damage pipelines. This may present a hazard to people, material assets and the environment, often resulting in high repair costs. Interference voltages can be caused, for example, by nearby high-voltage transmission lines and railway lines, but also by earth faults and lightning currents. The screwable earth rod from DEHN is the solution for safe earthing. The very low earth electrode resistances achieved with it reduce the corresponding voltages on the pipelines to a minimum. Interference voltages are safely discharged, thus protecting pipelines and people.By penetrating deeper earth layers with constant earthing resistances, the screwable earth rod ensures a high-quality and safe earth-termination system that is made to last. With the screwable earth rods, DEHN offers a simple, variable and safe solution for drilled earth-termination systems up to a depth of 99 m. This means that the very low earthing resistances (1 - 2 Ohm) required for pipelines, for example, can be achieved.The screwable earth rod is the ideal solution and can be used when normal earth rods or steel earth rods are not suitable. Variable earth electrode lengths enable optimum installation with a drill crane. The screw technology allows quick connection and thus quick insertion into the ground.Tested and fully galvanized connections protect the screwable earth rod from corrosion. Time-consuming protection of these connection points with heat-shrinkable sleeves is no longer necessary. All cross-sections of the conductor and earthing materials meet the specifications of DIN EN IEC 62561-2, DVGW GW 22 and VDE 0101-2. Telescopic air-termination rods from DEHN – quick and easy to set up, practical for transport and storage
Air-termination rods are part of an air-termination system, and thus essential elements for the external lightning protection of roof-mounted structures or buildings. Their size and dimensions depend on the building in question. The telescopic air-termination rods from DEHN are quick to install, do not take up much space when stored and are convenient to transport. The latching mechanism automatically stops the respective segment part of the air-termination rod, thus preventing it from slipping back uncontrolledly.The telescopic air-termination rods from DEHN are practical to use and can be set up easily by just one person. The manageable packaging size makes transporting it to the installation site easier – whether that be in a vehicle, on a staircase or in a lift. This air-termination rod can be installed on a stand or a wall.Short segment lengths and the integrated latching mechanism, which prevents the mast segments from sliding back after extension, make working even safer. Bavaria's Best 50 - DEHN once again one of the best Bavarian SMEs
More than 99 percent of German companies are small to medium size enterprises (SMEs). Not only do they account for around half of the country's total economic output. They also employ around 60 percent of the total workforce in Germany. Some of these companies stand out for their exceptional entrepreneurial drive and courageous plans for the future. Every year, the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy selects fifty exemplary Bavarian companies under the motto "Bavaria's Best 50" - and DEHN is once again one of this year's award winners.Looking back over the past years, we can be really proud of what we have achieved together," says Dr Philipp Dehn, CEO of DEHN SE. “I am especially happy that all of our hard work has been honoured again this year: a truly magnificent team achievement! DEHN - Earthing kit compliant with normative specifications
The earth-termination system is the basis for safe and future-proof electrical installation. All new buildings in Germany must therefore be equipped with an earthing system in accordance with the national standard DIN 18014. Photovoltaics, heat pumps or, for instance, the infrastructure for electric mobility have an impact on the planning of new buildings as well as on refurbishments and retrofits. Consequently, protection concepts must stay abreast of the times.The DEHN earthing kit with earth rods enables simple, standard-compliant, and future-proof protection of residential buildings with a floor area of up to 120 m2 while offering additional advantages.The basic earthing kit contains all components for a future-proof earthing system as per DIN 18014:2023-06 and is suitable for all commonplace ground plans. It is ideal for use in residential buildings without basements because earth rods do not require excavation. Systems such as the main power supply system (230/400 V), information and communication technologies, or charging equipment for electric vehicles, battery storage and heat pumps can thus be connected with low impedance.By using two earthing kits, it is also possible to create the basis for a combined equipotential bonding system. Personnel changes in the executive board – Helmut Pusch leaves DEHN SE
The Supervisory Board of DEHN SE and Helmut Pusch, CSO DEHN SE have agreed, after joint consideration, to end their cooperation. In his almost 30 years at DEHN, he has had an exceptionally positive influence on the company as a whole and on its sales department in particular. Customers, business partners, employees and shareholders perceived Mr Pusch as a representative of DEHN who was always honest and full of integrity. His outstanding professional and market knowledge, his boundless commitment in a wide variety of areas and his high quality standards have characterised him over all these years. Looking ahead, both parties have come to the conclusion that they hold different opinions on fundamental aspects - too different to continue the previously successful cooperation. Helmut Pusch started his professional career at DEHN back in 1994 following his engineering studies at the OTH Regensburg. After his beginnings in Technical Support, he switched to sales as a Key Account Manager. Between 2001 and 2007, Helmut Pusch was Head of Market Management and Technical Support before becoming Head of the Country Region America / South Africa / Spain and Portugal in autumn 2007. On 1 January 2011, the company transferred the management of International Sales to him. Since the beginning of 2014, Helmut Pusch has been in charge of overall sales at DEHN, initially as Managing Director and most recently as Chief Sales Officer/CSO. On an interim basis, Dr Philipp Dehn will lead the CSO area in addition to his current duties as CEO until the position can be filled.
