Protection of building, measurement and control technology

Safe. Compact. Robust. The combined arresters of the BLITZDUCTORconnect series reliably protect measuring and control circuits, bus and telecommunication systems against lightning and surge damage – in industry as well as in building technology. They have minimal space requirements while offering high discharge capacity and easy handling – from installation to maintenance.

Discover below other features that make your systems more fail-safe and your processes more efficient.

Special features:
  • Discharge capacity 3 kA (10/350 µs), 10 kA (8/20 µs)
  • Impulse current carrying capability (8/20µs) Imax to 20 kA
  • 6 mm width

Benefits at a glance

DEHN
01
Space-saving and compact

With a width of only 6 mm, the compact device fits in even the tightest switchgear cabinet environments and leaves room for additional components.

02
High protection for signalling systems and equipment

With a lightning current discharge capacity of 3 kA and low protection levels, the BLITZDUCTORconnect series reliably and permanently protects terminal equipment. In addition, the surge arresters are vibration- and shock-tested for safe operation.

03
Downtimes reduced; system availability increased

The "fail-open function" is a protective mechanism that ensures that the signal circuit is retained in the event of a failure of the arrester; i.e. that it is not interrupted.

04
Flexible for various applications

The BLITZDUCTORconnect series is available for a wide range of applications: in addition to the modular and compact versions, there are also special solutions for hazardous areas or explicitly high rated currents. Take advantage of the universal options for protecting your equipment.

05
Rapid and clear installation

Tool-free and time-saving wiring thanks to push-in connection terminals. Push-in technology enables time-saving, vibration-proof and maintenance-free installation with constant clamping force. It also facilitates the easy disconnection of the conductors and reduces the risk of incorrect assembly. The surge arresters are clearly marked for fault-free wiring – recognisable by the inscription "protected".

06
Easy maintenance

For maintenance, the signal circuit can be disconnected galvanically and without tools by rotating the surge arrester. The signal circuit can be measured via the integrated test sockets.

DEHN
07
Integrated status indication and remote signalling unit

For remote monitoring of the surge arresters, only two components are required: the transmitter and receiver unit and the reverse unit. Only the transmitter and receiver unit is wired. The associated reverse unit does not require wiring, as it is simply plugged onto the DIN rail.

Perfect interaction of our product series

BLITZDUCTORconnect and DEHNpatch offer reliable protection against lightning and surge voltages. In combination with the DEHNrecord IRCM remote signalling unit, permanent status monitoring of the two arrester families is possible. The arresters in the individual product series protect the measuring and control circuits, Ethernet infrastructure and bus and telecommunications interfaces against damage caused by lightning and surge events.
