IDS GmbH offers power supply companies complete solutions for transformer substations: from predefined standard solutions to customised plug & play variants.

The new, compact ACOS 730 small telecontrol device is the centrepiece of the complete solution. This device makes it easy to gather information from short-circuit and earth-fault indicators or power quality analysers, or to control switch disconnectors. Alongside a central unit, the ACOS 730 has further I/O modules, a power measurement system and an LTE modem. The long-term functionality and availability of the systems are thereby ensured!

The risk of damage caused by electromagnetic influences as the result of direct or indirect lightning discharge is generally increasing significantly. The reason for this is the wider installation and networking of increasingly sensitive electronic devices and systems in the smart grid. In addition, grid-induced voltage peaks, e.g., from earth faults and short circuits or switching operations, can cause further damage. This leads to long-lasting and expensive operational interruptions and consequential damage.

IDS relies on tested lightning and surge protection concepts from DEHN to avoid expensive maintenance and repair work, to ensure functionality and supply reliability and to fulfil the requirements laid down in the German standard DIN VDE 0100-443 for new buildings.

Depending on the system configuration, all interfaces where surge impulses can be inductively or capacitively injected and thus damaged are protected with high-quality, high-performance surge arresters from DEHN. This applies to the power supply, copper-based data interfaces and also coaxial interfaces that lead to external antennae.
