The challenge


The constant availability and functionality of battery storage systems are a decisive economic factor. Direct lightning strikes, lightning discharges at a distance or mains-related overvoltages pose a major risk to battery storage systems. This results in technical defects, expensive repair and maintenance costs and high labour costs.

The solution

INTILION GmbH relies on a high-quality lightning and surge protection concept from DEHN. And thus fulfils all international normative requirements.

An external lightning protection system is installed on the roof surface to prevent mechanical damage and melting of the sheet metal shell in the event of a direct lightning strike. The metal outer shell serves as a natural down conductor of the lightning current to the earthing system and acts as a Faraday cage.

All incoming power and data lines are wired with lightning current and surge arresters for complete lightning equipotential bonding. This ensures complete protection, even for the most sensitive electronics. Maximum safety!
